Youth in AI Appoints Richard Apau as a Governing Board Member
Accra, Ghana – [February 18, 2025] – Youth in AI, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to advancing AI education, research, and adoption in Ghana and across Africa, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Apau as a Governing Board Member, effective January 2025.
Richard Apau is a Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, and AI Policy Expert with vast experience in AI governance and digital transformation. As a Systems Analyst at the African Union Counter-Terrorism Centre (AUCTC), he provides strategic insights on AI security, data protection, and policy development across Africa. He is also a member of the AU Working Group on Artificial Intelligence, contributing to the Africa Continental Strategy on Responsible AI.
Richard’s career spans academia, policy advisory, and consulting for organizations such as UNDP, NATO, INTERPOL, GIZ, and the European Union (EU). His expertise aligns with Youth in AI’s mission to equip African youth with AI skills and opportunities.
