Maximizing Youth Potential through Youth-led AI Innovations
Why Youth in AI Lab?
AI is transforming the way we tackle humanity’s most complex challenges. The Youth in AI Lab was founded to accelerate youth-led AI discovery and bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and real-world solutions across Africa and the globe. From climate resilience to healthcare, education to sustainable agriculture, our mission is to empower young minds to design and deploy AI systems that sustainable impact.
Backed by a global community of researchers, mentors, and partners, Youth in AI Lab offers deep technical workshops, innovation sprints, and sector-specific research. Through open collaboration, community-led research, and responsible AI practices, we are not only shaping talent pipelines and advancing youth employability, we are reimagining the future of AI from the ground up.
Pioneering Youth-Led AI Innovation for Global Impact
The Labs mission is to empower the next generation of innovators to build intelligent systems that address societal challenges. By combining generative AI, large language models, multi-agent systems, and ethical AI frameworks, we foster youth-led research and innovation that brings lasting change across sectors.

Deep Learning Model for Liver Ultrasound Image Segmentation
By using deep learning to segment liver ultrasound images, we are helping diagnose conditions like hepatitis, cirrhosis, and tumors. Designed for use in low-resource settings, this AI system supports frontline health workers with fast, accurate, and accessible diagnostic tools helping bridge the gap in specialist care across Africa.

Adaptive Deep Learning Model for Avocado Disease Detection
Avocado farming is growing across Africa, yet fruit diseases continue to impact quality, yield, and market value. This project introduces a real-time, deep learning-based system designed to detect and classify avocado fruit diseases. The solution supports precision agriculture, early intervention, and smarter quality assurance across the avocado supply chain.
Our AI Research Associates
Let's Innovate Together
Innovation thrives on collaboration, and we invite partners and researchers everywhere to join us. Companies and Institutions can co-sponsor workshops or share real world data challenges.
