Who we are

Youth in AI is a Nonprofit Organization leading the charge to democratize Artificial Intelligence “Education, Research, and Adoption (AI ERA) across the continent. Founded in January 2024, we are driven by a bold vision: to ensure African youth are not just consumers of AI but creators, innovators, and ethical leaders shaping its future.

Our rapidly growing community of 3,000+ students, researchers, and professionals represents 15+ African nations, united by a shared goal: harnessing AI to solve local challenges while positioning Africa as a global hub for equitable, sustainable innovation.

Our Story

A group of young AI enthusiasts in Accra noticed a gap: while global tech giants raced to advance AI, African youth lacked access to foundational education and platforms to lead. From a single workshop with 30 students, Youth in AI has grown into a movement spanning 15 countries, supported by advisors from Google, Intel, and the African Union.

“We’re proof that Africa’s youth don’t need handouts—they need opportunities. Give them tools, mentorship, and a stage, and they’ll transform the continent.”
